The opening of the 2010-2011 academic year

I have worked with Hagar for three months and I have experienced a lot of events, celebrations and places. Working for Hagar is a real privilege. I can see a very strong solidarity, teamwork and a lot of support. Just this week, I went to one of Hagar’s celebrations - the opening of the 2010-2011 academic year. A lot of people – staff, government officials and community members - came to celebrate the value of education.

It is a good opportunity for our clients to pursue their studies in Hagar’s catch-up school. I am proud, seeing their smiling faces, and knowing they are still at school. The catch up school allows the students to study two grades in a year!

Myself, I studied at primary school for 10 years. When I arrived at secondary and high school, I was older than the other students. But, I never gave up my dream. I tried harder and harder and I always had HOPE of becoming an engineer, a teacher or someone who would help other people one day.

Now I work for Hagar in communications. This is a place where I can help clients to reach their potential, dreams and hope for the future.
