"All children need a roof over their heads, proper nutrition, parenting and support structures that will help in nurturing them and giving them a renewed hope for the future." UNICEF - State of the World's Children, 2008
Instead of begging for a living, Way is in school at Hagar's CLC. Read his story here.
Our dream is that every child who comes to Hagar will experience justice, be loved and nurture by a community, and be empowered to walk confidently into a future bright with hope.
Hagar's Children's Programs reach out to some of Cambodia's most vulnerable people through a range of programs. Through Trauma Recovery Centres, education, counseling, long term community based care, support for children with intellectual and physical disabilities and their families, and legal counsel, Hagar defends the rights of children and restores them to wholeness.
As children experience healing and have the opportunity to learn at school, they begin to dream about their future once again. Hagar empowers children to pursue those dreams, and in the process, helps break patterns of poverty and inequity that can lead to trafficking, child labor, and other human rights abuse.
