The Cooperation Committee for Cambodia awarded Hagar with a Certificate of Good Practice.  Of more than 3000 non-governmental organizations in Cambodia, Hagar and two other non-governmental organizations were given the honor this year. To date only 10 NGO's have been certified, including Hagar.

Hagar won the award because it has successfully demonstrated high compliance to the NGO Code of Ethical Principles and Minimum Standards and a high quality and level of internal governance.

The NGO Good Practice Project was established in 2004 by the Cooperation Committee for Cambodia to encourage NGO accountability. The Code of Ethical Principles and Minimum Standards for NGOs aims to maintain and enhance the standards of good organizational practice and public trust in the integrity of the NGO sector.

The Code of Ethical Principles and Minimum Standards and the Self Certification is unique in Cambodia and has become a forum for NGOs to come together to learn about best practices in accountability.
